WHAT WE DO

TALK THERAPY

Counseling and therapy are available for those needing a traditional approach to addressing their challenges. Clients can learn new methods for changing negative behaviors, understanding their thoughts and feelings, developing positive coping skills, and regaining a sense of hope.

Talk therapy can assist with challenges like:

  • depression
  • anxiety
  • ADD/ADHD
  • PTSD
  • autism
  • grief, loss, and bereavement

ANIMAL-ASSISTED support

Animals provide a unique approach in which clients can experience new ways of understanding themselves and relating to others. Working with animals (under the supervision of skilled staff) provides an opportunity to explore and practice different ways of 'being' without judgement or criticism. Our animal partners can be incorporated into therapy or can be used for non-therapy support.

Animal-assisted support can help with:

  • self-confidence
  • emotional awareness
  • empathy
  • stress tolerance
  • problem solving skills
  • impulse control
  • interpersonal relationships
  • independence
  • and so much more

MENTORSHIP

Non-therapy support is available through our mentoring program. Relationship building and positive role modeling is a natural outcome of focused engagement in any one of a variety of activities whether it be woodworking, sports, weight lifting, homework help, or learning to care for our animal partners.

Program specifics are established after individual assessment and determining how the client's needs may best be met.
